ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Ya it was about $290 for the flights round trip and the rest was hotel and we traveled Sunday to Sunday. Hubby and I paid 1,500 pp for the ocean front. We did have a TA but my god did she end up being absolutely awful. They did not have rates that low she matched what I found. Expedia at the time last Feb when we booked thats what the rates were at pp.

I have Michele and she has been pretty responsive. Usuallly a day or two. She emails my work so if I see here respond to an email and I have another question I email her back right away hoping that hse's still going thru her mail. LOL

I forgot to ask you girls, when you made the final payment did they make you fill out a form and ask for id? They asked my FI and he refused. They said the bank of Mexico required it idk, that seemed a little shady but when he said he will give his id when we check in then they were fine with it.

I needed to do it for our honeymoon in May anyways so I figured I better just get it over with lol.

Debbie and Pigpig, they are even nicer in person.

Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your bridesmaid. Maybe you can give her the pieces for her birthday or for Christmas?

Also ladies I just went to look at rates to book our anniversary trip for next year. The rates are only out until October and they are almost double what we paid!! Is this possible??? Has anyone else seen this or is just because those dates are so far out?

That's great to know.

She feels really bad, but what can you do. I bought her bridesmaid dress and personalized all the gifts with her name- what do I do with that? Well, she has the dress because it was sent to her city.  Oh well, I will at least have one friend there lol (my now one bridesmaid) Okay, vent over.

On a good note, today at my team meeting, my manager was showing a powerpoint presentation and then the next slide had a pic of me and FI with "Welcome to Lisa's Wedding Shower" and they rolled in a cart of presents, food, and cake (and FI) lol ....was so cute and sweet :-)

i have a timeshare at the royal and get really great rates, lower than those available to non-resort members, plus you get some bonus stuff/treatment as a "gold member".  we got a great deal & did this when we were down in april.  that prompted us to have our wedding here.  the rates were about $117 per person per nite Jr suite i believe with a promotion that was running.  if anyone wants to check with me about using our timeshare (with a very minimal fee to cover the cost of the week) just PM me.

Hello Ladies!! It's taken me a while to catchup! So much activity going on! Love it!!

Lisa- I know it will all work out. So sorry that your ladies were not able to make it. At least they'll be there in spirit! It's your day.

Bon_Air - I apologize if you thought I was making fun of the explosion in Mexico - that was not my intent. I was commenting more on how my Mom has been acting like a skittish colt every time she heard news about acts of violence.

JoZee - I will definitely PM you!!

Ladies - I just realized I let my passport expired - how long did it take you to get a new pasport?

Jes - at wicky's, was it a private area that you had? I love your rehearsal dress - so fun and tropical.

Ladies that came back and just used Fernando - did he have a large selection of makeup colors to chose from? I bought some other colors just in case. Was he open to using other makeup that you owned?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
