Hi Lisa just sent you the stuff :) a bridesmaids breakfast would be wonderful there. Sorry the only packages I have are for weddings sad.gif

Also just so you know during the day they are a beach club and it is usually pretty crazy and loud. If you are looking for a breakfast you may want to consider La Tortuga. There food is really awesome and they have a private terrace where you can do your event.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best
Jess

Question for you ladies who have already been married at The Royal - since the resort is so big, and cell phones won't work in Mexico, how did your guests communicate with each other? I was thinking of getting some walkie-talkies and including them in the welcome bags, but I don't know if that will be cost-effective...

Thanks for any input you may have!!

I was down there in May, just for a visit, and I honestly didn't think the resort was "that" big. We were constantly seeing the same faces etc at the different restaurants and around the pools etc. We had thought about walkie talkies, but we think if people have a general idea of what plans are etc, they will see people enough to communicate. Also the people who do want to be doing things together, they could maybe have a meeting time and place set up when they get there, so people can exchange room numbers or something. Just a thought :)

So I am starting to try to nail down how much everything is costing. We have the Luxury Package (for up to 35 guests....we were expecting around 40). But we are at 58 guests at the moment, expecting around 65 (apparently people are looking for a vacation!) So when I'm looking at the Price List, they have $30/person for the extra people. Is that just a general charge? And you have to pay the $10/person for the cocktail, and the other $30/person for the reception? (I'm referring to the extra 30 people we have). So it ends up being $70/person? That just seems rather high, but I know that shouldn't surprise me. I'm trying not to worry about it, and I should be excited/lucky that we have so many guests who can go, but I just need to get a better idea of what I'm looking at. If anyone could possibly help with this, that would be great! I tried using that new website thing that my WC sent me, but I'm not sure how it works exactly and how often she checks it. Which by the way, I have "Jael", does anyone have any experience with her? I believe I am just working with her up until Mexico, because on my site visit Zulma said she would be working with me for my wedding. Just curious :) Thanks everyone!!

we're trying to decide between keeping with a semi-private reception or just spring for the private reception....i got tempted from looking at photos from the ladies here that did the private receptions...

we don't have a huge amount of guests, so would it look "bare" if we had a private reception?

we want some dancing, and i don't there is any with a semi-private reception, so we figure we would go to the Blue Parrot after the reception, but then realize that could mean a late night for us as our guests are party people and heavy drinkers and we have aTTD the next morning....

so we thought with a private reception, we have some dancing without partying too late...

i've been back and forth between the 2 types, but don't want to take too long in case something gets booked.

any suggestions?

Here are the break downs of the costs:

Ceremony $5 Resort Guests $10 Non-Resort Guests

Cocktail Hour $10 Resort Guests $20 Non-Resort Guests

Reception $30 Resort Guest $60 Non-Resort Guests

and of course if there is any time in between events you also have to consider that non-resort guests have to pay for a day pass or will have to leave the resort during that time

I hope that helps

thanks! we have all of our guests staying at the royal which definitely helps. i just saw how after the 'luxury package' on the price list it says $30/person....but i couldn't imagine it would be that, PLUS the 5/ceremony, 10/cocktail, 30/reception, you know what i mean? i tried to contact Jael, so we'll see what she comes back with :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
