Hi ladies,

I've been checking this thread for a while and today I finally sent in my deposit and date request to the Royal. We're hoping for May 8, 2011. I can't wait to participate in the discussions over the next year and a half or so...everyone has already been so helpful!

Just email them again. That is what I did. she didnt send me the confirmation until I asked her.

Nothing against the resort or anything like that we were just doing some comparisons of the resorts and decided that the Barcelo or Dreams Tulum would be a better fit for our guests, as our guests list as now changed and is somewhat out of control actually! eek!! The Royal is a beautiful resorts that hold very wonderful weddings so I wouldn't second guess any of your decisions!

Hi everyone! I tried to do a search but couldn't really find the answers to these 2 questions. Does anyone know if

1) We are allowed a rehearsal the night before at our ceremony location? Is the WC there and does it cost any extra?

2) Do they automatically allow the ballroom to be available in case of rain? Or do I need to call and get them to reserve that some how?

~Thanks!

Hi,

You can do a rehearsal dinner the night before at the ceremony loction - depending on how many people it will cost extra. If its just 15 people they usually let you set up in one of the restaurants. Also if there are going to be kids there it has to be private which does cost extra. Otherwise you can look into doing it at the Gran next door.

They do automatically book the ballroom in case of rain. In my contract from them it specifies that if it rains they automatically resreve the right to ove everything to the ballroom.

Hope this helps :)

and any requests for specific photos?

I do plan on going to the MAC store and finding out the scoop as well as checking out other salons to see their rates for nails etc.

I also will be checking out the price of maracas on 5th and any other goodies that maybe of use

My goal is to see how much I can get there because I don't want the hassle of bringing everything down

Hey Jesmcan thanks so much for the answers to my questions!

I'm so excited for you to be going on your site visit so soon! I can't think of any more questions right now but if you are going to be on 5th Ave around the resort and see a florist let me know. I'm going to try and get my bridesmaid's bouquets on 5th and have my mom wrap them for us instead of spending $60 per bouquet or whatever it was the resort is charging. I saw on a website somewhere that they do have one on the Ave but of course I don't know if it's a nice florist or a hole in the wall. lol

Have a blast and I can't wait to hear how it went when you get back :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
