ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Well we just booked 16 people for our December wedding. We are able to do the 2 week trip. I've been checking the Real Resort website and there are some changes to the "free" wedding! You no longer have to stay in the lux Presidential suite. The free wedding will apply as long as you stay in a room with the "Royal Service" upgrade. There are some new wedding packages available too! I'm currently waiting on a reply from Micaela if there are other new perks they will give to someone staying in the Presidential suite.

Just to compare rates on travel packages, our cost for a Royal Jr. Oceanview room, including tax and Air Canada first class seats out of Vancouver Canada was $3400 a person. The single rate was $4800. How does this compare with everyone elses travel?

I'm getting so excited by reading this thread!!!

Hi Athena and welcome to this thread! I'm for Toronto, and your pricing seems just about right for 2 weeks. I'm actually seeing my travel agent tonight, so I'll let you know if the prices are different... they might be cheaper for me since Toronto is closer to the yucatan peninsula than BC.

I'm excited to hear about the new wedding packages! I'm going to ask Micaela about the free wedding as well. i have my wedding date tentatively booked on May 12, 2009, I still have to wait for the minister's confirmation as it is still very early on to book the date.

Please let us know of any updates you may get from Micaela!!

That's so nice of you to offer. I think I'm good as far as questions, but have a great trip! I'll be at the Royal on the 27th so we'll just miss one another! Enjoy your stay!

Rhonda,

I am booked for that date too! Micala said I was booked - but i never got any confirmation # or sent in a deposit. I am going to email her today to double check that I am all set. WE are having our reception next door though so that won't be an issue.

Let me know how it goes!!!!

Ok, I'll let you know how it all goes! Shannon, that would be fun if we got to meet next year on our wedding day. I'm also looking at 2 other places while I'm there this week, but, Royal is so far my top choice. :)

Rhonda, what other resorts are you looking at this week?

I also wanted to know if you could double check the pricing per head for the dinner reception. I'm also curious to know what the ballroom looks like at the Royal, but I think I'd rather have the garden reception anyhow.

Thanks so much for the offer! Have a great trip!

Stephanie,

I'm also looking at the Aventura Spa Palace and El Dorado Resort (but, not sure this one will be an option due to all the issues I'm reading about).

I will definitely find out what the price is for the dinner reception and I will check out the ballroom. I'll let you know when I get back next week.

Hi guys, I am just starting to look for resorts, and Royal definitely looks amazing!

Athena, I read you had a travel package from Vancouver, would you mind letting me know how you went about booking it? Did you use a travel agent? I have family back in Vancouver, and I am looking for some really good deals...

Do you guys also know how many weddings they hold a day at Royal?

THANKS!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
