Dreams Cancun Photography and Videography

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I contacted Claudia Rodriguez about being my photographer for my August 14, 2008 wedding. I told her I heard that Dreams Cancun is no longer allowing outside vendors, and I asked her if she was an approved vendor. Here is her response:

"YES we're ALLOW to work at the Dreams in Cancun,

I've heard that they have had issues with other photographers and this is why they are closing their doors to them....."

I will follow up with Dreams and see what they say. Thanks for all of the great information.

Susan

So this is the response i've just got from Claudia :

"Photographs. One of the reasons we picked this package was because it included photographs. Is this right that it will only cover the ceremony?
yes the photos only coversd the ceremony, it is a small package ..
If so we will need to reconsider the whole package as I really don't want 50 photographs of the ceremony that will only last a short time and will be all the same. This is a major issue for us. Everything else we are really flexible but the photographs we arent.
please find the photo packages upgrades & prices..."

So thats another thing they are trying to screw us for!! I daren't email back until I've calmed down because at the minute I'd tell her to shove the wedding right up her jacksey!! I'm furious and have no clue what to do because I don't have an extra $1000 to add to an already inflated price! any suggestions would be appreciated but i think my only option is to swap hotel and i'm gutted!

I don't know - I don't know if its a translation blip or what. She sent me a sheet with the upgrades on (robbing bandits!) and it says 1 -2 hours so that to me is more than the bloody ceremony. I've emailed the photographer hopefully he'll get back to me and when he does I'll email her back and point out it says 1 -2 hours not 20 mins!! and ask her to take it off.

Just spoke to FI and he's all for swapping to the RIU where all the legal fees are in plus massive extras and its still less than the Dreams package.

Its also the fact of having to pay 50% upfront FI is in the army and anything could happen and I'd lose all that cash. Also how am I supposed to send a cheque in $ lmao

Oh man now i am scared too because my contract doesnt state it but I beleive I will KILL too if they try to do that to me..

I dont blame you! I am trying to work my way over there some how (flights are so expensive from my area) so i can be in their face and tell them exactly how i feel.. Its very sad how we are paying so much to stay in the hotel as well as our guests, we still pay for a package to get pictures and video only to go and try to milk us for MORE money on top of having to pay per person if you go over 20 people.. They better not be including their people in our 20 count either... uuggghhhhh

I rang the TA and he is going to find out for me because he can't see how they can do that or how they can charge x2 for a package - if i get an answer i'll let you know.

He actually said if they keep doing it they will review whether they recommend them or not because we i'm not the first one thats queried something big!

I got an email from Claudia today saying that their in house photographer is Juan Navarro. She sent me some pictures and they look decent. Has anyone actually used him? I tried to go to his website link that claudia sent (www.juanphotos.com) and it didn't work?? Right now I'm planning to just do the "included" wedding package because we had enough guests book to get it free and then I was going to pay for whatever package of pictures I decide. I saw other posts about the pictures being "ceremony only". On the pricing sheet she gave me I don't see anything about ceremony only, but it does say 1 hr or more depending on the package, so I should get more than the ceremony right?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
