Note to Future Dream Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

This is for all the ladies that haven't yet booked a date but want to wed at Dreams Cancun. I have been going back and forth via email with Claudia and Daniella (wedding coordinators at Dreams) for the past few weeks. I request a date, they tell me it's not available, give me a list of what is available, I pick again and the cycle starts over. Well after this happened 4 times, I got fed up and decided to just call them directly. They didn't answer so I left a message and surprisingly Daniella returned my call about an hour later. Before I asked her for my number 5 option for a date, I had her double check my first pick (just in case by fluke it opened up). She told me that the date wasn't available for sunset but it was open for a noonish time wedding. I really didn't want to have a sunset wedding anyway so this just worked out perfectly. I also asked her (just out of curiosity) about my 2nd-3rd picks and it was the same situation... just the sunset timing wasn't available.

So, I hope that this helps someone because I was SERIOUSLY stressing about not getting a date that worked.

PS. WOO HOO!! I'm officially a Dreams Bride!! YEAH!!

I was having similar problems with the coordinators at Dreams Cancan, I asked if they had 3-5pm available and they answered 5pm (which was later than I really wanted as my idea time was 4pm) and after calling I found out they had anytime available between 3-5pm but they were proposing 5pm because they thought it was best (less hot). You'd think they would have written back and said "anytime between 3-5 is fine, we suggest 5 because it's less hot" rather than answering "5pm is available". So you definitely have to ask lots of questions about different times and maybe even phone them. And never assume anything (i.e. when she says 5pm is available, it did not mean that 3pm or 4pm was not).

Hi there, I'm a Dreams bride too but not till November 2009 (I am a planner)lol! I was hoping that by booking this early I can smooth out all these rough areas but they don't seem to want to know untill a few months before, I do understand that they must be extreamly busy. So I have asked my TA to forward my emails to see if I get a quicker response and failing that I will call them. I am thinking of booking an outside photographer and they have said that if I book now thay will honour 2008 prices so I really need to find out what credit I will receive from the Dreams package so I can put that money towards the outside photographer. But hey I'm not happy if i'm not stressing about something lol

Its my birthday today too WHOOP WHOOP PLENTY OF BEVERAGES CONSUMED TONIGHT YIIPPEEEEE !!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
