Dreams Tulum, free upgrade upon arrival

Recommended Posts

I've read many posts of room upgrades for people getting married at the resort. I'm getting married in June and trying to decide which room catergory to get. If they give the bride and groom a free upgrade upon arrival, I would like to pay for a room in the 'hacienda' section.

For those of you who got the free upgrade, what room did you have reserved and what did they upgrade you too?

Thank you so much for reading, I'm putting my deposit down tomorrow and hoping I can get some help from you. Thanks!

I booked the hacienda (called Deluxe when I booked it, so I thought it was actually one of the better rooms, but no, it's the cheapest ones) and contacted the resort and they said as part of wedding packages they upgrade the bride and groom but not the other guests. So not to worry, you'll be upgraded too, assuming there is space when you arrive. You get upgraded to a dreams junior suite garden view.

Thank you so much for your replies!!!

We will be getting either the Dreams of Love or Ultimate (leaning more towards this) wedding package. I think I'm going to reserve the Deluxe Garden room (the cheapest room) and cross my fingers and hope we get a free upgrade to the Dreams Junior Suite Garden.

you paid 280$ per person per week? I was quoted 280$ per room per week (40$ per night per room, to upgrade from deluxe garden view to dreams junior suite garden view)

By reading the description under the "accomodations" section of their website, it does sound like the dreams junior suite ocean front is better than the honeymoon suite. On the description, the only thing the honeymoon suite has that the junior suites don't is a secret box for room service (from my understanding, so that you don't have to put clothes on while getting the food delivered!). But I wouldn't be surprised if the description is overly simplistic and if there is more to the honeymoon suite than that.

When I get my upgrade to the dreams junior suite garden view, I'm going to ask to see one of the ocean views, an ocean front, adn the honeymoon suite, and then decide if I want to pay to upgrade to one of those and which one. I'll try to remember to take pictures of each and post them later.

I was wondering that too. We booked a Deluxe Garden View room but I am really hoping they upgrade us to a better room once we are there. FI wants to upgrade anyways after our wedding on Saturday, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed that we meet whatever requirements they may have for a free upgrade.

It all depends on room availabilies...

I as lucky since we arrived there when the resort was not even half full (Dec 8th). We all had upgrades except one couple since they arrived 2 days after. We reserved the deluxe garden view room (lowest price) and got a suite in the new section. Once all my guest left, the resort was almost full (Dec 15th) Upgrades would of been impossible at that time.

Not everyone who gets married there get upgrades... so if you really want a certain room, I suggest you do like Lisa, pay for it and them hope they will still upgrade you (same room type but at a better place... maybe the new sections! )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
