Hello 2012 brides at Le Reve!

I am so excited woot.gif I am going to have my wedding at Le Reve after all. It was always my first choice but we couldn't agree on the contract because of my small size wedding and then we came to a nice agreement and I will be signing the contract today. I reviewed so many resorts that I became so confused but I always kept Le Reve in the back of my mind.n I have never been to Le Reve or Mexico but I read so many good reviews about it that I do not plan to do a site visit.

My wedding is scheduled in April and I can hardly wait. Please post here if you are having your wedding at Le Reve and let the count down begin.

Happy planning chicas!!

Congratulations!

How many people do you have in your wedding? I purchased my dress at Nordstrom a couple of months ago but I'm like going to keep looking since Nordstrom has a great return policy. Still don't have my STD nor do I have mailing addresses lol I hope to get them out within the next couple of weeks.

Are you planning to bring your own vendor or will use Le Reve for everything? I contacted Alfonso for music I got his name on this site to give me a quote for guitarist or mariachi band and I'm waiting to hear from me.

We're thinking at least 50 guests.  We were worried about being able to fill Le Reve at first based on some initial family reactions, but now that the date is set it seems that people are more excited about it!  We may even more than 50, but we'll see as the reservations start to be made... How many guests are you having?

Definitely keep looking for a dress if you're not totally happy with it.  I'd gotten one at the running of the brides a few months ago, but I just found one this past weekend at a local salon that I absolutely love!!  I think I'll wear the other dress either at the rehearsal dinner or at a dinner on the beach during the honeymoon :)

I'm going to use Arlenis for the planning for sure.  I'll probably go with her recommendations for other vendors - flowers, music, etc.  I'm thinking of a guitarist for the ceremony and a mariachi for the cocktail hour too.

A word of advice on gathering addresses - start early!!  I started asking around in June and just got the last couple of addresses over the weekend.

Are you planning on doing out of town bags for your guests?

Hi Ladies,

I am thinking of Le Reve for my wedding next april....meaning I need to hurry up. I am a but worried about asking my guests to pay that much per room, but then when at look at other places I really think that Le Reve is my favorite. How did you both do with Negotiating with them?

The one great thing is that they are so quick with emails!

Good luck planning!

Hey Moraya,

I thought Le Reve's room prices weren't so bad, especially if you can take advantage of their promotionl with del Sol/La Luna.  Luckily, I was able to take advantage of it and it really helped keep the room rates reasonable for my guests.  I didn't do any negotiating since that worked out so well.

Good luck!

Hey there!

I'm glad people are excited for you now that you have a date set. I am wondering if this will be case as well we will see.

Yes I am planning to do out of town bags. I'm not sure what will be in them yet.

I finally have all my addresses now I just need to purchase my STD.

As far as vendors, I am going to give it a shot on booking them on my own and if it becomes too complicated I will just going to work directly with the hotel.

@ Moraya

I was also concerned about asking my guests to spend a lot of money/night. What you have to remember is they will likely make a vacation out of this + Le Reve is beautiful. They won't be disappointed. I struggled with this as well but I have done so much research and for that area and for the type of service you will get, I felt that Le Reve was reasonable for such a special occasion. Good luck!

Hello Future Le Reve Brides,

I have found so many ideas on this site from other brides. Someone posted information about Pinng I never heard of this website before so I went on there and I decided to email my save the date cards through them and save some money and time. I don't remember who originally posted about this website but I am so glad they did. So my STD are sent and I already have a few people RSVP on my wedding website. Yay!

I am curious to know how many days are you ladies planning to arrive in playa prior to your wedding day? Since I did not do a site visit and I'm not planning I was thinking 3-4 days before but I'm not sure if it will be necessary or if i should save my vacation for after the wedding. Any thoughts?

Happy planning!

I am so excited to announce that I, too, will be a 2012 Le Reve bride!! We just finished the contracting/deposit process with Arlenis for June 16, 2012 and could not be more thrilled!!! We haven't been to Le Reve yet, but we knew this was the place for us from pictures and reviews and information on this site. We also considered Esencia, which also looks amazing with an incredible beach, but unfortunately the rooms were too expensive even with the generous discount we were offered. We feel so lucky to have found our perfect resort after months of searching! We are going for our site visit over Labor Day weekend and I will be sure to post pictures and reviews.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
