Where to Trash the Dress in Tulum

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

Getting married at Dreams Tulum, really soon! I am looking for some ideas for places to shoot our Trash the Dress session close by. I know we are not permitted to shoot at the ruins, and we already know about possible shooting at Xel-Ha, but I was wondering if you super-knowledgeable women have any other ideas.

And help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

First off congrats on your upcoming wedding! You must be so excited wink.gif

A lot of brides utilize the beautiful cenotes in the area for TTD pics and of course there are so many beaches in the area that would be exquisite backdrops. I know between Tulum and Playa del Carmen there are tons of fantastic beaches along that stretch. I would definitely do a search in the Cancun/Riviera Maya section for good locations as any applicable rules, entrance fees, etc. to the cenotes or beaches have been discussed thoroughly in the past.

Hope this helps, and wherever you decide ~ make sure you share your pics with us!!! rolleyes.gif

Hi Tia,

You are able to shoot at the ruins, you just need special permission. You can e-mail

direccion.qroo@inh.gob.mx

or fax

01 983 83 72411

I suggest using the fax number.

Also, you can use the cenotes as mentioned above. We used Hidden Worlds, but Labna Ha is also beautiful. The beaches are beautiful and secluded towards the end of the hotel zone in Tulum. You can park at Mil Amores and walk into the preserve if you would like.

We did our TTD session at the public beach just down the road from the ruins. It was AMAZING!!

basically, we got to the ruins. Then instead of paying and going inside, we headed south down the road. you'll walk a little way and then there will be a few taxis (if you're lucky) they'll drive you just down the road for a small fee $3-5. We probably would have walked, but I was in my wedding dress and getting really hot!!

That beach has beautiful boats, the super soft white sand, BLUE water, and a fun little restaurant right on the beach. It's awesome!!

Hi everyone!!

I need help figuring out a great spot for TTD pics. I'm bringing another dress with me to get "dirty" in. My own photograher is in Houston as well and we're trying to find places. I love how the ruins at Tulum look over the sea but is it even possible to take TTD pics there?

I've seen tons of TTD pics by Del Sol & Elizabeth Medina - any brides who have used them - locations would be great!! I love the cenote area they keep using and those small ruins.

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
