I used Discomovil for my wedding in Playa Del Carmen.
Ricardo from Discmovil was very sweet and professional,attentive, and reasonably priced. He showed up early, even did a site visit to make sure he had all necessary equipments before the wedding. I would totally recomend him. We gave him a playist and that worked great.
I contacted Ricardo back in December requesting his services for my wedding in April, his responses were always prompt and professional up until my wedding day. I had a situation with the hotel wanting to charge an hourly rate for Disco Movil to use their electricity. That was aggrevating because it would have ended up being double the cost of what we expected for the DJ budget. Ricardo went out of his way to email me about this generator he had used at another wedding in Riviera Maya. That request alone sold me instantly on his professionalism, from that point I knew I was in good hands and I had no worries that this Dj would make my wedding night a memorable one! The only list of music I provided Ricardo with was my introduction playlist for the bridal party, other than that he played AMAZING music all on his own all night long. All 73 of my guests were on the dance floor dancing the night away, it was unbelievable! Ricardo's "MC" did a fabulous job getting everyone in the mood to dance too. He wasn't the greatest at announcing the bridal party walking in, but he made up for it later with his enthusiasm on the dance floor. I can't tell you enought about how wonderful Ricardo helped made my wedding. I regret not getting the dance floor from him though, it didn't matter to any of my guests at the time but looking back at the video I know it would have been 110% wilder if we had that dance floor. :) No questions asked, Ricardo is your guy! He is the best priced out there for what he provides and beyond respectful. They helped make my wedding a night that will never be forgotten. Love you guys and thank you again!

We had hired Discomovil for our symbolic ceremony in Riviera Maya. He was very reasonably priced and did an excellent job. He listened to all of our requests and made sure to give us exactly what we wanted. He came to the resort a few days before to go over pronunciation of each of the names and any last minute requests we wanted to get in. We allowed a lot of flexibility in music choice and he exceeded all of our expectations. We were so excited to have him there as we celebrated our big day.
We also rented the dance floor from him and everyone loved it. The colors on the dance floor matched our colors perfectly. Plus everyone loved the way it would light up as they moved their feet to the music. It was the ideal touch to our outdoor ceremony.
We would recommend Discomovil for any couple having a destination wedding; money well spent.

We booked Ricardo for our wedding at the Gran Caribe, they were absolutely amazing. They kept us dancing, had every song we requested including the special mixes we put together and sent to them. I used Disco Movil for my wedding in Isla Mujeres and we were so happy with the entire day! From the ceremony to the very end of the reception, we were SO impressed with everything. We sent him our own songs and he added on and everything he played was great-people continued to dance all night-no one wanted to leave at the end! I had my wedding at the Omni Cancun in February 2011 and hired Ricardo de Pavia from Discomovil after a frustrating search of over-priced DJs in Cancun. Before contacting him, I was at the point of almost using an iPod for my wedding but just knew it wouldn’t be the same atmosphere without a DJ. I found Discomovil on this site, and contacted him without knowing much about him as he is not yet well-known on the DW boards just yet.
His emails to me have always been prompt, friendly and he provided helpful information before I even asked! I felt the connection with him immediately – he even took the time to look at our wedding web site and read about who we are. He also has a YouTube channel which has snippets of weddings he’s done so you can get a feel for his style and services.
A few weeks before the wedding, he even updated me that he had met with our wedding coordinator to check out the space and make sure he had access to what he needed – everything went perfectly!
We sent Ricardo a list of songs (not too many, as he is the expert DJ and I wanted to give him freedom to do his job) – what a fantastic job he did! Everyone kept saying it was the most fun they’ve ever had… and one guest said he hadn’t let lose like that in ten years! :)
In addition to requesting him for my reception, I also needed someone to operate the ceremony music – he was happy to do it and I told him everything just once over email and had someone remind him when he arrived to the hotel. He was on time and did an AMAZING job.
He is perfect DJ for your wedding if you want to have a great time and want a true professional! Any more questions, feel free to message me.
Suggestion:
Just give a list of some songs you want played at your wedding to give the DJ an idea of your taste / style, along with the demographics of your wedding (ages, female/male ratio, etc) – let him do his job because that’s why he’s a DJ. Your guests will also be able to request songs throughout the night. Discomovil has nearly every song you can imagine… I think I only had one request he didn’t have and he downloaded it for us prior to the wedding. And, one of my guests had a really random request we didn’t think he’d have and he did! :)

Richardo was fantastic. He was great with the kids requests, adult requests and even managed to find a polka for my polish mother. Everyone had a fantastic time and I would not hesitate to hire him again.
My husband and I just got married at the Riu Cancun this weekend and Ricardo from the Disco Movil DJs was fantastic!! He was able to keep our Polish and Dominican guests on the dance floor the whole night!!! I can't say enough about how awesome Ricardo our DJ was. I was nervous planning a destination wedding but the DJ was the easiest part. We used Ricardo and his assistant Benji for our May 15 wedding at Moon Palace. They have a no outside vendor policy, so we booked them a room for the night. Ricardo's communication was great leading up to the wedding and answered most emails within a few hours.They were on time, professional and played just about every song on the playlist I sent him at the appropriate times. Most of our guests and myself were dancing the entire reception. They made the necessary announcements with great timing. I can't say enough great things about Discomovil and their prices are great!!
I found Disco Movil online while trying to find a D.J. for my Dream Wedding in Cancun...I had no idea that he was the same D.J. that my brother had used months before at his wedding. I sent many messages to many DJ's and Ricardo answered me within the hour. I discovered he was my brother's D.J. when I saw his website, he was showing his most recent wedding, and there I was dancing with my family at my brother's reception .....I had really enjoyed myself that night, and knew I wanted to book him.
He was the best price and communication via email was simple. He met me at my Hotel, the day before my wedding and took great notes on everything that I wanted....and even did a mix of the Wedding March for me, using songs that I specifically requested. The Ceremony was perfect, my reception dinner was perfect, and the music for all of my special dances, cake cutting, partying.....perfect. In fact, when he was supposed to be finished, we were enjoying ourselves so much that he stayed another hour for a small fee. He was a crucial part of making our Wedding something to be remembered, and I would recommend his professionalism, service, and talent to anyone interested in booking.
My wedding was supposed to be nothing more than an incredibly FUN and romantic event for all of those that could be there.....I give a big thanks to Disco Movil~Ricardo and Jesus, for making it Exactly What we wanted.

Disco Movil exceeded my expectations. Ricardo was great at communicating and playing the music we wanted to hear. He would change a song if we requested it and was flexible with the playing time and contract. I appreciate what he did for our reception and special karaoke pre party! He arrived early, was set up to go on time. He provided a lighted dance floor for my party which my guests loved he also provided a screen, mics and karaoke machine for our karaoke arrival party. Pleasant and professional!
We found Ricardo (from Disco Movil) online many months before our September 2011 wedding in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Ricardo was extremely professional - he always answered emails very quickly and with very clear explanations each time. He respected our song list and had what seemed like an unlimited playlist with any song you could think of. On the day of the wedding, he was set up and the music was going when we entered the beach club (where our reception was). He played some great cocktail "chill" music for the cocktail hour, followed by more chill (but not boring) dinner music, and after that the party started! To say that the music was a hit is an understatement. EVERYONE danced all night long (even our friends who never dance) and pretty much all guests told us it was the best party they have been to, and that they have never danced so much!
Ricardo was also extremely helpful and accommodated our last minute requests, such as staying later at the reception than originally anticipated, and setting up a large screen so we could play a picture slide-show (with one day's notice).
I cannot say enough good things about Disco Movil / Ricardo. I would highly recommend them, without reservations. We could not have had a better DJ.

I cant say enough positive things about Disco Movil DJs. I looked into about 8 different DJs near cancun that could play for our 11-11-11 wedding. To be honest I picked them because their prices were almost half of everyone elses and it included more hours then everyone else. The good reviews they were given didnt hurt my decision either. Being from out of the country I was worried about wether or not anyone would show up but they only charged a small down payment and the rest was paid after their services were finished. I was pleased to find out they arrived WELL before they needed to to set everything up. They even got together with my wedding coordinator to make sure the resort had what they needed. They played great music and anything we wanted them to play (including an inappropriate song the bride requested) they did LOL!
It was a blast!!! Everyone was on the dance floor (all inclusive resorts dont hurt that either :P ). I HIGHLY recommend them for any event you have!

We hired Disco Movil for our wedding at Sun Palace on 11/19/11, and couldn't have been happier. After spending alot of time researching DJ's in Cancun, we selected Disco Movil based on (1) their timely communication via email (2) price and (3) reviews by other clients. No matter the time of day, Disco Movil answered my emails and responded, in some cases, within just a few minutes. This gave us a comfort level that they were responsible and cared about their customers. In addition, their price was significantly better than other DJ's, and they accepted payment via PayPal, which I liked.
In terms of the wedding, Benji and his son (Benji) did an excellent job playing what we wanted to hear as well as taking requests from our guests. Everyone was impressed with the music, and Benji's ability to keep people dancing until it was time to call it night. I would recommend Disco Movil to anyone looking for a great DJ who's priced right. They exceeded our expectations, and I know they will exceed yours.
If you want to do your wedding in the Riviera and need an amazing DJ, please do not hesitate in hire Discomovil, the music was gorgeous!!! we could not stop dancing all night long?!! it was so sad that we had to quit :( but believe me the music is just the BEST!!!!
We are a Colombian and Laos couple who got married in Isla de Mujeres on 11/12/11. With so much diversity between our families and friends I was worried about what mix of music we would need to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good time. Ricardo did an amazing job, no one left the dance floor! I saw people dancing who usually sit on the sidelines, which made my day. I had given Ricardo my ipod for some tradicional Colombian songs my mother wanted to hear. He played that and perfectly blended all the music.
Throughout the planning, he was very responsive and accomodating. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a DJ. I guarantee this wil be the easiest part of your wedding planning.
OK, sometimes people write things, and you think, "they are clearly exaggerating." Except, this time I'm not. Everyone at our destination wedding commented on the DJ. They all agreed with what me and my wife felt. Ricardo was amazing! He used all our songs and mixed them all superbly. He went from merengue to hip hop to salsa to reggae to dance to R&B flawlessly. Each time a new song came on people either got on the dance floor or stayed there. The last two hours of our wedding was everything we dreamed of. To be honest, I'm still floored by their peformance. Thank you Ricardo and Disco Movil. You guys were the best!!
