Cecilia Dumas Photography Reviews

I was planning a wedding at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa in the Riviera Maya for May 2, 2012. While looking online I found Cecilia. Her prices were very reasonable compared to many of the other Cancun photographers and MUCH better priced than the resort. She showed up ahead of schedule and hung out with the girls while we all got ready. Our wedding was on a Wednesday and she delivered the pictures (prints and disc) on Friday around 2 p.m. The pictures are beautiful. Everyone says they look like something from a magazine, postcard, or fairy tale! I am so glad I chose Cecilia!

Cecilia Dumas was amazing.  She was so easy to work with and made me feel very comfortable during the photo shoot. She came to the hotel room around 4pm with two of her assistants.  She took a picture of me getting ready from 4-5pm.  After the ceremony, we did some group photos and then just the two of us, and we met back up with all the guests on the beach and we did more group photos.  Then me and hubby went to the hacienda next to the hotel to take more pictures.  We had Cecilia for 3 hours 4 – 7pm, but by the time we got back to the restaurant for dinner reception, it was already close to 7, so I told her to stay extra 30 minutes and we’ll pay extra for that so she could get some pictures at the dinner.   She told me that she won’t charge extra but just pay a tip to the assistants.  We met at the airport on the day we are leaving to exchange the money and the photos.  She gave me pictures and the CD with all the pictures with edits and the rest of the pics, about 375 photos.  I am planning on doing a photo shoot with her next year again for our one year anniversary in Isla Mujeres where the colorful buildings are since we didn’t have time to shoot there this year.   Can’t wait for more of her amazing pics!

We meet Cecilia in our first trip to Cancun to plan our wedding, we loved here work.. She showed us her worked and even recommended venue since we were scouting venues by that time.
She was super responsive, she also had a photobooth which my husband really wanted to get one, we negociated the price with her. We hired her for 7 hours of photos plus 2 hours of photobooth.

We had bad weather the day of our wedding which means good luck and happiness for your marriage. This didn't prevented her for taking great pictures, we were lucky between the rain and ran a took lovely photos in the beach and gazebo.

She is super fast getting us all the photos, we got our wedding photos, cd with all originals, album and prints in a month right when we returned from our Honeymoon.

It is great to relive that moment.

We did an engagement pics session with Cecilia last June.  It was AMAZING, FUN, ROMANTIC!

Highly recommended to brides who are on a budget, want nice wedding pics and want them FAST!

Cecilia can turn pics within 3 days with prints and edited pics on CD!

I had trouble deciding on our photographer, but finally deciding to go with Cecilia was definately the right choice for us!  We emailed back and forth for what seemed like a hundred times before the wedding; she was always so quick to respond and always answered my questions.  She and her assistant arrived at our resort at 3:30 on our wedding day and we had them until 6:30.  It was just my (then) fiance and I at our wedding, so we didn't require a lot of coverage; 3 hrs was more than enough!  We had Hurricane Paula give us a scare but it stopped raining for our ceremony and gave Cecilia a gorgeous sky to photograph behind us!  She captured all of our important moments-getting ready, 1st look, ceremony etc., then we did shots on the beach and around the resort until it got dark.  Cecilia and her assistant came back the following morning for our Trash the Dress session (we had her for 1 hr for this and again, that was plenty!)  The storm had passed by then and the colors of the sky and water were totally different than the day before!  Just gorgeous!  Cecilia gives great direction, thank goodness, bc I had no clue what to do so I happily obeyed her commands-look down, look at each other, kiss, look at me; she was so funny!  On our wedding day, it was getting close to dark and she told us-ok it's almost dark so I'm gonna get bossy now :)  She's so funny!  Our TTD pics are just greatness, they are by far my favorite shots from the whole event and I still cant believe that's us!  She met us at the airport on Saturday as we were leaving with the prints (edited and retouched), all pics on a DVD and when we got home, I had our slide show waiting on me via email.  I was amazed she did it all so quick since she shot us on Wednesday and Thursday and it was all done by Saturday-unbelievable!  Let me just say I hate to be photographed and will do anything I can to avoid it, but Cecilia made me feel so comfortable and I'm still amazed how beautiful our pictures came out.  They are beyond anything I ever imagined they would be and I have a hard time believing that is me in the pics!  She captured all the magic of our day and told our love story in such a perfect way, and I have the most amazing photographs that I will cherish forever.  Now that the wedding is over, I can definately say that splurging on your photography is definately worth it, without a doubt.  I definately think you get what you pay for on this issue!  Thank you Cecilia for being part of our special day and capturing our magical moments in a way that I will cherish forever!

I can not say enough about Cecilia!  I will admit I was another worried bride about my wedding photography but from the time Cecilia arrived to the resort (right on time) to the finished product she was outstanding.  She helped me stay calm before the wedding and even helped with my dress when an unexpected dilemma took place.  She went out of her way to keep the wedding running smoothly! I couldn't believe the special moments she captured at the wedding.  She was so professional and never interfered with our big day.  The amazing pictures of my wedding speak for themselves! I couldn't have chose a better photographer!  Thank you Cecilia!

We had Cecilia for our wedding on 28th July 2011, but i had booked her the year before. Cecilia was so kind and professional, and my emails were answered almost immediately. I had looked at many photographers websites before deciding on Cecilia, and im so glad I picked her.

We booked her for 3 hours, our ceremony was at 5pm so Cecilia came to my room at 4:30, and took loads of pics of me, my dad and bridesmaids. I was so nervous at this point and didnt have a clue what to do, or how to stand, but Cecilia and her assistant were brilliant. They told me exactly where to stand, where to look, how to place my hands etc. If it wasnt for her direction I would have been a quivering wreck!!

We had 40 people with us and i was worried that we wouldn't get all the pics in the 3 hrs, but it was more than enough time. We got married on thursday and Cecilia told me that she had weddings for the next 3 days so wouldn't be able to edit my photos straight away but to ring her monday and we would arrange to meet in the hotel lobby tuesday. Cecilia delivered the photos as promised, with the cd attached. The package of 3 hrs was $1300 usd which got us around 100 photos printed and then around 800 pics on cd which we could print as many copies as we wanted from. In England photographers almost never give you the rights to the cd or if they do they charge a fortune for it, so I thought the package was a bargain!! We have had such great comments from everyone back home. everyone has said the photos are like something out of a magazine shoot, which is definitely what you want to hear about your wedding!!!  I would tell anyone planning on getting married in cancun, hire cecilia dumas if you want amazing photos!!
